     Hailing from York, England, Benjamin Leftwich is a indie-folk singer-songwriter known for his weaving musical tales that emanate life from the stems. With a series of acoustic gems,  Leftwich has drawn inspiration from artists such as Bob Dylan, Elliott Smith, and Ryan Adams. He gives support to the growing notion that the stunning results of the bond between storytelling and musicianship is one that can give flight to the simplest images.

Musician Spotlight Track: A Dance Round the Memory Tree

Artist: Oren Lavie

 In 2009, Oren Lavie released a stunningly well-crafted music video for his first single, “Her Morning Elegance”. Although the video earned Oren a Grammy nomination for Best Short Form Music Video, the brilliance of his debut album wasn’t fully recognized in my opinion. Oren’s voice is smooth and gentle, and his guitar piano lines can create images that range from a brisk walk in the park to a brilliant waltz taking place between two lovers on summer evening. He has since stated that he is in the process of recording a second album, but we can only hope the release comes soon.

Drawing inspiration from rock legends such as The Strokes and the Arctic Monkeys, Her Majesty harnesses the power of bold rock rifts, a wide range of dynamics, and the ebb and flow that accompanies their cool, crisp, and ultimately jolting sound.
